There are moments in life when trust becomes the only path forward. This conversation with Dr. Kate Flynn reminded me what Radical Self-Trust looks like when it moves from concept to embodiment.
In this week’s episode of Real Human Design Stories, I sat down with Dr. Kate Flynn, a 3/5 Emotional Generator, chiropractor, and founder of How to Human. Her story is a vivid example of what happens when you stop trying to perfect your Human Design experiment and start truly living it.

A 3/5 Profile Living the Human Design Experiment
Dr. Kate’s journey captures the experimental heart of Human Design. She and her husband, a 3/5 Splenic Projector, discovered the system together and decided not just to understand it, but to embody it. In true third-line fashion, they chose to embrace their experiments in a big way.
They sold almost everything, left the United States, and moved to Ecuador, not chasing a perfected dream, but honoring the wisdom of their bodies through their inner authorities. It was a full-bodied leap into the unknown, guided by trust rather than logic.
That willingness to test, to break bonds, to start again when something does not work is the essence of the 3/5 Profile. It is the lived process of falling down, getting back up, and finding the wisdom that can only come from trying. Dr. Kate’s story illustrates how this cycle becomes a form of embodied leadership, where the lessons learned from what did not work become the foundation for guiding others forward.
The Body Always Knows the Next Step
One moment that stayed with me was when Dr. Kate said, “Real change doesn’t come from fixing the body or analyzing the mind. It comes from restoring communication between them.”
Her approach, Body First, invites people to reconnect with their instincts through small, intentional movements. It is about grounding the Human Design experiment in the body because that is where true alignment begins.
We talked about proprioception, the nervous system, and even footwear. Dr. Kate explained how the way we move and what we wear affects how our body communicates with us. Listening to our Strategy and Authority means nothing if we cannot hear what the body is saying underneath.
Human Design, Relationships, and the 3/5 Path
Dr. Kate and her husband’s story opened a window into how Human Design relationships work in real life. Their charts connect and challenge each other in ways that require patience, awareness, and deep trust.
As a fellow Triple Split Definition, I resonated with her need for space and independence within connection. Radical Self-Trust in relationships begins with trusting our own rhythm and honoring how our unique energy design processes experience.
That is the gift of the 3/5 path. It is not about getting it right. It is about living it fully and allowing life to be the teacher.
My Personal Reflection
I walked away from this conversation feeling grounded and inspired. Dr. Kate’s words about barefoot awareness and sensory intelligence inspired me to find ways to reconnect more deeply with my body. This conversation reminds us that embodiment is not something we think about doing.
Radical Self-Trust begins in the body. When we slow down long enough to listen, the body shows us what alignment feels like. It knows when to say no to things, when to move, and, as Dr Kate describes, it often surprises us with the information.
At the end of this post, I have shared Dr. Kate’s Human Design chart so you can see the energy she so beautifully lives out.
