Meet Richard Corbett
Interviewing Richard Corbett was like opening a richly detailed book that you can’t put down. As a seasoned Human Design analyst and astrologer, Richard brings a unique perspective, which is particularly impressive given his journey as a 6/2 emotional manifesting generator who embraced human design just as he “went on the roof” over 25 years ago. His path, woven with deep personal work and an adventurous spirit, has been anything but ordinary.
Richard’s exploration into Astrology began during a pivotal time marked by his Uranus opposition—a period known for significant upheaval. This phase posed numerous challenges, prompting him to question everything he knew about following the mechanics of his Human Design as life painfully unfolded around him. The depth of mythology in his astrology chart eventually provided clarity and direction, allowing him to navigate these turbulent times with renewed understanding.
Deepening the Human Design Experiment through Astrology
We had a great discussion of how Human Design and Astrology, used together offer a richer understanding of oneself. Richard explained how Human Design outlines our energy mechanics while Astrology brings in our personal mythology, enhancing self-understanding and highlighting the unique narratives of our lives. He shared how the Chiron mythology connected him to his astrology chart and deepened his self-awareness, helping him to navigate life’s challenges with greater insight.

Aspects Discussed of Richard’s Human Design
In our conversation, we explored several components of Richard’s Human Design chart that have shaped his experiences:
- Channel of Transitoriness (35-36): Central to experiencing emotional depths and transformative life phases.
- Hanging Gate 22 on the Emotional Solar Plexus: Enhances his connection to deep emotional experiences, influencing his creative expression.
- Undefined Will Center with Hanging Gate 21: Impacts his sense of value and self-worth, affecting decisions and interactions.
- Defined Sacral through the 59-6 Channel of Intimacy: Defines his approach to relationships and intimacy, providing a stable foundation for personal connections.
These insights into Richard’s chart are crucial for understanding how he navigates his personal and professional life.
Creativity in Exploring Personal Mythologies
We also delved into the creativity involved in exploring our own mythological stories. I shared my own experience of creating a mythical creature in a blog post, which serves as a playful yet profound way to engage with my inner world. You can explore this creative piece here.
Reflecting on Relationships and Growth
Richard shared profound insights about the complexities and transformative potential of relationships. He discussed the balancing act between maintaining individuality and nurturing deep connections within partnerships. Richard’s thoughts remind us that relationships are powerful vehicles for personal development, challenging us to grow in love with ourselves and others—a beautiful journey of self-discovery and mutual evolution.
A Deeper Dive into Partnership
This reflection on relationships sets the stage perfectly for an upcoming episode where Richard and his partner, Brandy Jordan, will share the story of their partnership in Episode 74. Both being aligned 6/2 beings, they bring a unique harmony and profound depth to their relationship, embodying the principles of “nine-centered relating” that Richard touched upon. Having experienced how they teach as a couple firsthand, I knew I had to have my first Real Human Design Couple Story.
My conversation with Richard was nothing short of inspirational, filled with deep dives into emotional wisdom and the integration of astrology with Human Design. His story is a powerful reminder of the transformative power of self-awareness and the importance of embracing our individual journeys.
